West Road Primary School’s Attendance pages are guides to help parents/carers understand their responsibilities in regards to attendance and punctuality at school and the legal consequences surrounding non-attendance. Attendance at West Road Primary School is one of our key priorities. Regular attendance is crucial to children’s progress and success in school and to their later life chances and is therefore strongly promoted by our school. One of the most important things you can do for your child’s future is to make sure they go to school every day unless illness prevents it. Missing school means missing out. The more a child misses, the harder it is for them to catch up. If your child is between 5 and 16 years old and is a registered pupil at a school, it is your legal responsibility to make sure they attend school regularly.
